JAZZERCISE of Sanger

FAQ's

I haven’t worked out in a long time, should I take some time to get in better shape before trying jazzercise?

No Way! Jazzercise is for everyone regardless of fitness level. Our instructors routinely instruct students on how to modify movements to fit their current fitness level.

Do I need special clothes or equipment?

Any loose, comfortable clothes are fine. Most people wear bike shorts or jazz pants and a bra top or T-shirt. Bring along a towel or exercise mat for the floor work. Good, rubber-soled aerobic shoes are recommended.

How often should I exercise?

If you are new to exercise, begin with 2-3 classes a week and gradually add classes. To increase your fitness level, work out 4-5 times per week.

May I bring drinks and food to a class?

We recommend Jazzercisers bring a non-breakable water bottle with a lid to class. Prevent accidents and spillage by keeping drinks out of the way of other Jazzercisers. No food or gum, please.

Do I need weights?

Weights are optional for new customers. We recommend you familiarize yourself with the basic exercises and techniques before using light (3-5lb.) weights.

Do Jazzercise Instructors have special training? Who choreographs the routines they teach?

Yes, they must complete a rigorous certification process and become CPR certified as well. A specialized team, headed by founder Judy Shepard Misset, consults experts in exercise physiology when choreographing routines.
